completed February 2005 created with Painter 8, Photoshop 7 Anime Evolution is my hometown's one and only successfull annual anime convention. I decided to enter their mascot contest with this. I forgot it was a mascot contest, not a T-shirt contest. The pic is an obvious parody of the famous Evolution of Man image. I thought it would be fitting. The stages of "anime evolution," from left to right, are based on: ape (it's evolution!), Tezuka (50's), Cutie Honey (70's), Sailor Moon (90's), and my style today.
